Resin Driveway Company in Airdrie
Prestige Paving & Landscaping Ltd has been laying driveways across Central Scotland for over 20 years, and we work in Airdrie and the Monklands most weeks. Whether you’re in Petersburn, Chapelside or out at Glenmavis, the same small team does your drive from start to finish. No call centres and no subcontractors.
Resin is a thin layer, so what’s under it matters. If your drive is solid we can lay over it. If not, we dig it out, put in a new porous base and edging, then mix and trowel the resin on site.
- Honest advice on whether to overlay or rebuild
- Fixed written quotes with no hidden extras
- UV-stable resin and quality kiln-dried aggregates
- Colour samples brought to your survey
Resin bound driveways in Airdrie
Resin Driveway Installation in Airdrie
Resin bound driveways are smooth, tidy and drain well, and they need very little upkeep.

We lay resin bound driveways all over Airdrie, from Clarkston and Cairnhill to Whinhall and Gartlea, and out to Plains and Chapelhall. The stone is mixed with UV-stable resin on site and trowelled by hand, so there are no loose chips and nothing for weeds to grow in.
Rain goes straight through resin bound, so you don’t get puddles or water running onto the pavement. That usually means you won’t need planning permission for a front drive.
Most of our resin drives are finished with a block border for a crisp, contained edge. Drag the slider to see this bungalow driveway before and after.

Daltex blends such as Oyster and Platinum, from light silvers to warm, natural tones.
Borders & edging
Charcoal, silver or contrasting block borders to frame the drive and match your home.
Permeable & SuDS friendly
Rain drains through the surface, helping with planning rules and standing water.
How we build it
From dig-out to finished resin drive
If your drive needs a new base, the groundwork is the same as any driveway we lay. These photos are from one of our own dig-outs.

Free survey & samples
We check your existing drive, levels and drainage, show you resin colour samples and give you a fixed written price.
Overlay or dig-out
Sound surfaces are cleaned and repaired. Failing drives are dug out and the waste taken away.
Solid, porous base
A compacted sub-base and a porous base layer are laid so the resin has a firm, free-draining foundation.
Edging & borders
Block borders and edging are set in concrete to frame the drive and hold the resin crisply in place.
Mix & trowel
Resin and kiln-dried stone are mixed in small batches on site and hand-trowelled to a smooth, even finish.
Cure & handover
We clean up, leave the resin to cure and walk you round the finished drive. Usually ready to drive on within a day.
Local know-how
Resin driveways for every type of home
Airdrie has old sandstone villas, big post-war estates, new builds and plenty of sloping ground. Resin works on most of them. How we lay it depends on what’s there now.
Front garden conversions
In Petersburn, Chapelside and Holehills we turn front gardens into parking. If you need a dropped kerb, North Lanarkshire Council has to approve it and we’ll explain how.
Tired tarmac or concrete
If your old tarmac or concrete is still solid, we can lay resin over it and save you a full dig-out.
Old slabs & block paving
Uneven slabs and sunken monoblock lifted out and replaced with a new base and resin.
Sloping driveways
Airdrie is hilly in places. We set the levels and fit channel drains so water runs away from the house.
Older houses
Warmer resin colours and cobble borders look right next to the sandstone villas around Cairnhill.
Paths & patios to match
Resin paths to the door and garden patios in the same blend for a seamless finish.

Resin bound driveways
Resin Bound Driveways in Airdrie
Resin bound is one of the driveways we get asked for most in Airdrie. The stone is coated in UV-stable resin and trowelled smooth by hand. It looks good and needs almost no maintenance.
For a new drive we dig out, compact a stone sub-base and lay a porous base course so the resin sits on something solid that drains.
- Seamless, smooth and weed-free
- Permeable, so rain drains straight through
- UV-stable resin that won’t yellow

Resin over existing drives
Resin Over Existing Driveways
If your tarmac or concrete is solid, level and drains properly, we can usually lay resin straight on top. It’s quicker and normally cheaper than starting again.
We check it properly when we visit and fix any cracks or dips first. If it’s not good enough, we’ll tell you.
- Quicker and less disruptive
- Old surface cleaned, repaired and primed
- Honest advice if a new base is needed

Resin colours & borders
Resin Colours & Borders
There are lots of colours to choose from, from light silvers and greys to warmer buffs. Daltex Oyster and Platinum are two of the most popular, and we bring samples when we come out.
Most of our resin drives have a block border in charcoal, silver or a contrasting colour to finish the edges.
- Daltex Oyster, Platinum and more
- Charcoal, silver and contrasting borders
- Samples brought to your survey

Resin paths & patios
Resin Paths & Patios
We also lay resin paths and patios. Using the same colour as your drive keeps everything matching.
Resin can go round curves and steps easily, which helps on sloping gardens.
- Front paths and side access
- Back garden patios and seating areas
- Curves and shapes without awkward cuts

Old drive replacements
Old Driveway to Resin
A lot of our resin jobs in Airdrie start with an old drive that’s past it: broken slabs, cracked concrete or a garden with nowhere to park. We take it all out, put in a proper base and finish it in resin with a block border.
Drag the slider to see this driveway before and after.
- Old slabs, concrete and paving removed
- New compacted sub-base and porous base
- Finished in resin with block borders

Monoblock driveways
Monoblock Driveways in Airdrie
We also lay monoblock driveways across Airdrie in any colour, pattern and border, all on a properly dug-out base.

- Re-lays and replacements

Tarmac driveways
Tarmac Driveways in Airdrie
Tarmac is good value for long drives or where there are a few cars. We lay it hot on a compacted base and roll it smooth, often with a block border.
- Block and Sky Cobble borders
- Front garden to driveway conversions
- Most tarmac drives laid in one or two days

Good to know
Resin driveway questions we’re often asked
How much is a resin driveway in Airdrie?
It depends on the size, whether we can lay over your current drive or need to dig it out, access, and the colour and border you pick. Laying over a solid drive costs less than starting from scratch. We come out for free and give you a fixed price in writing.
What’s the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?
Resin bound has the stone mixed into the resin and trowelled smooth, so there are no loose stones and water drains through. Resin bonded is resin with gravel thrown on top. It’s rougher and doesn’t drain. We only lay resin bound.
Can you lay resin over my old driveway?
Yes, if it’s solid, level and drains well. We clean it and fix any cracks first. If it’s breaking up, we’ll recommend a new base, otherwise the cracks will come through.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not, because water drains through resin bound. Listed buildings, flats and conservation areas can be different, and a new or wider dropped kerb needs North Lanarkshire Council to approve it.
How long does it take?
Most resin driveways in Airdrie take two to four days, including groundwork and borders. You can usually walk on it after a few hours and drive on it the next day.
Will it go yellow?
No. We use UV-stable resin, which doesn’t yellow in the sun like cheaper resins can.
How do I look after it?
Give it a sweep now and again and a power wash once in a while. There are no loose stones and weeds can’t grow through it.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes, all of our work is guaranteed. We’re a vetted Checkatrade member, rated 9.83/10 from 50 verified reviews, and Checkatrade’s £1,000 guarantee applies to eligible jobs (their T&Cs apply).
Which areas of Airdrie do you cover?
